Mother Nature grants us the opportunity to watch the Sun in its pristine glory, as it sets on a different world than the one to which it rose in.

The photographs on this book site is my journey, through nature, as it changed around me. My passion & photographic skills have captured the Mother Nature’s finest creations through my lens be it a bird soaring through the skies, a tiger quenching its thirst or a mother elephant’s aggressive defence of her calf.

Though pictures can’t portray what the eyes behold, this is my humble effort to share with you, these once in a lifetime moments. From a leopard’s growl to a tiger’s walk. From feeding their young to hunting their prey. These images are but a droplet in the ocean of my six year journey and I hope the same joy that I experienced, ripples through your heart & mind flipping these pages.

My father, who presented me Double Reflex Camera with 120 mm roll —That may be Greek or Latin for some today, kindled my passion for photography ! Yes, those were the days of 120mm / 110mm / 35mm and monochrome photographs. A photo-shoot in color used to be rare; barring 1 or 2 color images, the rest would all be in Black-and-White. Eventually, I graduated to 35 mm film camera. Owing to dearth of facilities to develop color-prints in Delhi in those days, I remember dropping off the film roll at the only Kodak collection center at Janpath, New Delhi (who used to send them to Mumbai for processing!) and eagerly yet patiently wait for my pictures to arrive only weeks later.

Photography in those times had its challenges—no reviews, no burst modes, no exposure meter — one had to depend upon their own instinct and judgment for light and shutter speed. At that juncture I took inspiration from the admirable body of work published by Mr. Ramesh and Mr. Rajesh Bedi, who I consider my first Gurus. Although I have never met them, their work was instrumental in my unending pursuit of excellence in wildlife photography. Growing domestic responsibilities and perhaps paucity of time, steered me away from my passion for photography from 1990 up until 2014. However, my deep-seated love for the craft coupled with a promotional Nikon advertisement in the newspaper, motivated me to pick up the camera once again —never to be parted with it again!

Since then, I have started visiting several bird sanctuaries & national parks across India, in search of exotic wildlife. While travelling, I have come across so many fables, local tales about how these parks were established & lesser-known facts about their conservation. The more I travel, more humbled I feel by the mesmerizing beauty of natures creations, which surround us. Mother nature provides us unconditionally but we have a greater responsibility to preserve this natural legacy so that our future generations enjoy it in a thriving and living state rather than as fossils.
